Pawtucket - Redirect object entity facet browse to detail page

edited 4:40AM in Pawtucket
I'm interested in hacking the default behavior of the "Browse objects by entity" screen, such that when I click on a given entity, I'm redirected to the entity detail page, rather than a browse results screen showing only thumbnails related to the entity.

I see that the New Museum Digital Archive has accomplished this (and have reached out to see if they can share): http://archive.newmuseum.org/index.php/Browse/Index

I'm curious if anyone else has implement this ability.

  • There's an option in the Pawtucket app.conf called redirect_to_ca_entities_detail_if_is_first_facet that will do what you want if set to a non-zero value. There are similar options for the other types of details in Pawtucket. These were added specifically for New Museum a while back, actually!
  • I've been working on updating our CA installation to 1.7, and Pawtucket2. Is there a setting available in Pawtucket2 that performs the same redirect. I've added the above setting to app.conf, but it no longer appears to work.
  • Hi,

That option was part of the old Pawtucket code. It does not exist in Pawtucket2. If you need that sort of behavior file a ticket on JIRA (http://clangers.collectiveaccess.org) and we'll see what we can do.

  • Thanks - I found a superior alternative available in Pawtucket2. I set "browseMenuFormat = list" in browse.conf, which displays links to browsable content types and available facets.
