automatic copy of a value to set the default value of another bundle

edited July 2013 in Installation
Hi!
I would like to set the default value of an object bundle by copying the value contained in a bundle of the lot this object belongs to (when it is the case). Is there any way to do this?

  • You can set default values for any metadata element (Manage - Administration - Metadata Elements), but cannot have an object metadata element automatically draw its value from another element in the Lot editor.
  • Hi Vince,

I gather than you're looking to copy a value from a related record into a newly created one. That's not possible right now in the stock software. We could either add it to the core or write a plugin to do it.

If you want to request it post a feature request on JIRA at http://clangers.collectiveaccess.org/jira

    thanks,

And, by the way, thank you, Seth and the whole team, for what you have done so far...
