Inability to log into mysql

edited August 2013 in Troubleshooting
One day I start up and I can log in, another day I can't. This goes round and round with restart after restart until I can log in to mysql...until finally today no matter what I do - no login to mysql. Nothing has changed on the machine...

I get the generic error from CA:

"Could not connect to database. Check your database configuration in setup.php."

My setup.php file looks just like it always has...

I know it is completely generic but...any pointers you can provide? Thanks.

  • Can you provide a few details about your setup? What operating system? What version of MySQL? What version of PHP?

Can you connect to MySQL via any other applications or the command line?
