Translation using Transifex
Hi,
I have set up Transifex projects for Providence and Pawtucket and uploaded the current en_US locales. There has been some interest in shifting translation work away for POEdit (which is something of a nightmare) to Transifex. If you want to get involved in translating CollectiveAccess into your language create an account on Transifex (http://www.transifex.com) and join the CollectiveAccess organization.
Thanks to everyone (past, present and future!) working on getting CA usable all over the world. Hopefully Transifex will help make the process a bit easier.

Many thanks Seth !

Is there something wrong or did I mess up our
translation file?
Thanks,
Sam
As a side note - transifex is nice
Thanks,
K
Are the duplicate strings fixed on transifex?
Thanks
Sam
It's quite weird : those strings were inside first github version of en_US.po.
You can see it at :
https://github.com/collectiveaccess/providence/blob/68e5709dc2ef83ccbd88c2d30ad160fa47b6c825/app/locale/en_US/messages.po
l.345 and next :
#: c:\providence/app/controllers/find/SearchEntitiesAdvancedController.php:73
#, fuzzy
msgid "displayname"
msgstr "User name"
#: c:\providence/app/controllers/find/SearchEntitiesController.php:71
msgid "surname, forename"
msgstr ""
#: c:\providence/app/controllers/find/SearchEntitiesController.php:72
#, fuzzy
msgid "forename"
msgstr "User name"
I'm removing those weird translations from en_US.po. I'll make a pull request for Seth in the next minutes. Sorry for the delay.
Ref to pull requests :
https://github.com/collectiveaccess/pawtucket/pull/7
https://github.com/collectiveaccess/providence/pull/48
I'm not administrator for providence & pawtucket en_US translations, I can't update those on transifex [and here comes seth ;-)]
If you want to download them now, there updated po files are at :
http://tinyurl.com/prov-en-us
http://tinyurl.com/paw-en-us
They will be available at http://github.com/collectiveaccess/providence when Seth will accept the pull request.

Thanks for fixing this Gautier!
Hello, transifex says the source for translation is from 2015. It is updated?
Not lately (but more recently than 2015 :-)
We're working on automating these updates
Hello @seth,
according to https://docs.transifex.com/transifex-github-integrations/github-tx-ui
it should be really straightforward to configure transifex to pull translation source changes from github on regular basis and
push changes or create pull requests on demand, on completed review, on completed taranslation and so on.
Is there any reason, why it is not configured in that way?
Can i help with it ( e.g. create relevant configs and test it on my fork)?
My PR mktrans.sh was created to make translation source preparation realy easy.
The only reason is time. There's no one here with the time to deal with it. If you'd want to take that one it would be very much appreciated.
After few test runs i have prepared small guide, setup takes 5 minutes, (it will run longer but ou dont need to watch it)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QNK9X2--sw98qEJ3hrr3457-y1hJGCSqsKX_STeSVyA/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks for taking the time to create the guide. Someone will work through it (probably me) in the coming days.
Integrations have been set up.
Thank you.
