Pawtucket navigation bar error message

We have recently installed Providence 1.6.2 and Pawtucket 2.0. Everything seems to be working, but in the navigation bar on Pawtucket there is an error message: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/html/pawtucket/app/helpers/browseHelpers.php on line 217. I have updated our PHP to version 5.6.26 and tried several versions of Pawtucket. Using an older version of Pawtucket caused this error message to go away, but caused much more grievous ones elsewhere. Does anyone have any advice for other troubleshooting steps we could take?

  • Do you have browseTypes defined in your theme's browse.conf configuration file?  If you've created your own theme, make sure to copy the configuration files from the default theme (themes/default/conf) into your theme as a starting point.
  • This is using the default theme. I was able to make the error message disappear now by changing the line

    foreach($va_browse_types as $vs_k => $va_browse_info) {

    to

    foreach((array) $va_browse_types as $vs_k => $va_browse_info) {

    in browseHelpers.php. Is this actually fixing the issue or just hiding it?
