Question: datatype/attribute type "Entities"

mdcmdc
edited September 2018 in Installation

As I understand it, this attribute can be used in a field (within a container) to reference Entity authorities in your database without establishing a relationship between object and entity.

This could be really useful in my installation profile to make sure persons and organisations are validated with names already in the database.

My question is, however, does this work similar to 'suggestExistingValue' in that a user can fill in the field regardless of that entity being in the database already or does it only work with established entities?

  • Hi mdc,
The Entity record will need to already exist in your database in order to be added using the Entity authority field.
