Data Import Tutorial for CA not working

Hello all!

I'm new to CA and running some import tests using the CA demo site and their Data Import "sample mapping" and "sample data" xlsx spreadsheets, however, not all the metadata is importing, specifically the date values and date types, descriptions, and notes. I am attaching the two sample sheets provided by CA with hopes that someone experienced can look through and review for possible errors.

I initially had issues with Object Type (set to image) so I modified the settling value under "type" to artwork and this enabled me to import the data. When I added "image" to Object Types in the List & Vocabulary, and reset the worksheet to "image" under "type," it wasn't able to import.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! As a potential user of CA for our small institution archive project, having a working data set for the data import tutorial is very important! Once I have a working sample map, I can modify to test our institution's data.

  • Hi Sara,

The CA demo site does not use the installation profile (aka CollectiveAccess configuration) that's provided on the Data Import Tutorial page, although it has some fields in common and those you've identified because they've imported correctly.

To use the sample data and mapping available on the Data Import Tutorial page you must install the import profile configuration in a CollectiveAccess testing space.
