Memory problems with big lists

I have a very large list (lexicon3 terms). When I try to use a version of Prov. from git (any version that uses /vendor/tedivm/stash/src/Stash/Driver/FileSystem/NativeEncoder.php) I am unable to load an editor page that has the list - Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 187777024) (tried to allocate 15243704 bytes) in /hermes/bosnaweb28a/b1269/ipw.pelhamhs/public_html/ca/vendor/tedivm/stash/src/Stash/Driver/FileSystem/NativeEncoder.php on line 63

It seems that the entire list is trying to be loaded into memory by the serialize function....and it is too big (why is the entire list loading at once, and not just the expanded branches of the hierachy)

In versions of Prov that still have /lib divided (/lib/ca, /lib/core) I can load the list just fine.

Any ideas? Is there some easy way to turn a large list into an information service?

  • Ive tried using define('CA_CACHE_BACKEND', 'sqlite'); as well and also run into memory issues.

  • Also, I can browse the list just fine in [Manage]->[Lists & vocabularies].
