Change Sort Criteria for Objects Output in a Collection

Hi — In Pawtucket 2, when outputting objects in a collection (the jQuery in ca_collections_default_html.php to browse_results_images_html.php) is there a way have the objects sort themselves by object attribute, let’s say ca_objects.date rather than id number as seems to the default, ca_objects.idno? Thanks!

  • Hi rsteinert,

The sort options are configurable in browse.conf, you can sort by any attribute you wish. The first value listed will be the default sort value.

Hi Sophie, Thank you for getting back to me. I tried adjusting the value there, but the adjustment didn't seem to have an effect. I ended up adding a Jquery sort by attribute functionality to browse_results_images_html.php, adding the date of the object as an attribute of the search results div in the search by collection output, $vs_result_output.

This works in sorting my objects by date within collections, but I feel a bit badly as I might be bypassing a feature already in the code by doing this.
