Cataloging

Hi, I would like to use CA to catalog both art collections and archival collections which means that I will be using CA to work with the creative and intellectual content of multiple creators. Does CA support this with its cataloging structure? Can it be configured to catalog the archives and collections of different entities/institutions?

Comments

  • Yes, CollectiveAccess has been used by many institutions to catalog both artworks and archival assets in the same system. It has also been used to catalog the artwork and archival collections of different entities/institutions via consortium projects. For the later it's advisable to consider the use case and workflow and develop a system and server architecture that meets those needs.

  • Thank you Julia. This is very good to know. I have to make sure the system is equipped to handle both types of data.
