CA v1.6.3 - Unknown file type not accepted by media


I have a v1.6.3 CA installation and am getting an error when trying to upload JPEG and TIFF files.
From the data available from Manage > Administrate > Configuration Check I can see that Gmagick is being used for processing image files.
As mentioned in other similar posts I was trying to check if any installed module was broken and check if using Graphics Magick or ImageMagick wouls solve this issue. However I was not able to determine how to override the preferred behavior of using Gmagick.
Could someone please advise on how to do this?
