Timeline issue when using unbounded expressions.

I was just wondering if there is a way to limit how an object is displayed in the timeline when using unbounded expressions. For example, an object that has a date of “before 1982” will display in the timeline as “50000 BCE – 1982”, which throws the entire timeline out of whack and basically becomes unmanageable with such a long scope of time.
