1.7.8 - fresh install - access denied to login page

Hello,

I just finished a fresh install of Providence v. 1.7.8.

Everything went fine but when I click on le first login page's link, I only have a white page with "Access denied" message.

Could you help me, please ?

  • What type of server are you running? I am going to assume a Linux server with Apache2 installed.

    My suggestion is to check the permissions and owner/group of the CollectiveAccess' root folder then to change them as needed. For many installations with Apache2 on a Linux server, you should have the root folder to be owned by the www-data group and possibly www-data as the user too. As you will probably run the change of ownership to all of the folders you will probably need to go back and change providence/media , providence/app/log , providence/app/temp , the providence/vendor/ezyang/htmlpurifier/library/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache folders back to read, write, and execute by all.
