Trouble running caUtils as cron job

I'm trying to trigger the process-indexing-queue caUtils from a cron job, but after it executes, it doesn't seem like the queue has been processed. The command being run in cron is
/var/www/admin/support/bin/caUtils process-indexing-queue >/dev/null 2>$1

When I run this manually from the command line, it works fine. I also have a second cron line to call the process-task-queue process, which is working fine using similar syntax. Is there a more appropriate way to call "process-indexing-queue" from cron?

Comments

  • To update my post, I found that I needed to call this from inside a script file, and set a cron to run the script, unlike the process-task-queue Util, which works directly as a crontab entry.

  • I've never had a problem running either as cron. What was the error you were getting?
