Modify Home Page Design

I'm a consulting archivist working to enhance a digital archive that is built on Collective Access. We are trying to modify the landing page that is an Exhibition/Featured Gallery based gallery and use a Timeline/Chronology based interface for the user landing page (see reference example here https://veralistcenter.org/archive/).

I'm wondering what the recommended practice would be for modifying a home page but keeping the underlying object page styles. The current site is a standard CA template - would there be a template based option for switching over to a timeline structure utilizing existing metadata, or would it require bespoke css/html code?

Happy to provide any additional details if anyone may be of assistance!

Best,

Richard
