Places entry failure/crash

Greetings. Running 1.7.9 Providence. Every single time I add a new place, I get this:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ''YToxMTg6e3M6MzI6ImVmN2QxYzc4Y' (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE) in /home/oadarchi/staff.oadarchives.org/app/tmp/collectiveaccessCache/0fea6a13c52b4d47/25368f24b045ca84/38a865804f8fdcb6/57cd99682e939275/efd02694d21a801f/598ce1b6114171fe/c21f969b5f03d33d/43e04f8f136e7682/e92d1ceb7caccf1b/c14ac4c40a5783fd.php on line 14

I have to clear the tmp subdirectory in order to be able to start over. The entry is made, so the database is getting the information. The subsequent page call is crashing, apparently.

This same problem occurs when I try to create system lists, and appears to be related to the hierarchical browser somehow, though that is just a guess on my part.

Help would be appreciated.

Many thanks, Mark

  • Your system is corrupting cache files for some reason. That's why clearing tmp fixes it. Do you have redis on your server? If so try using that for caching.

  • We do have the redis extension available on the PHP panel, but according to the web host because we have shared service we can't use it. I've tried file and memcached. Both will work one or two times, then there is an error. Whatever causes this may be related to the nearly constant failure of images to upload, which I mention in a different forum post. There is an I/O fault showing in the Resource Usage. Nothing happens.
