How to restrict user (catalogue) access in Providence?

Colleagues, let me ask you a question. Is it possible to run CollectivaAccess in such a way that the main catalogue can see all objects and other catalogues can see only the ones they enter? In real life I have the museum headquarters which sees all the data and then the branch catalogues who see their own data (i.e. the data they entered or what belongs to them locally). I am talking about backend (Providence), not frontend.

Thanks for the idea.

  • You could set up item level access control and make the default privileges on records such that only the record creator's group can see them. Administrators would still potentially see everything. I can't say I've ever heard of anyone actually trying this though.
