Don't Show Related Objects in Search Results
edited May 18 in General Support
I'm getting unwanted search results in Pawtucket. When I search for a keyword, let's say "John", it will show many good results, but they are intermingled with object-object relationships. In other words, it is showing me objects that don't mention "John" anywhere except in the title of a different object. That different object is already in the search results, making the results about 50% good and 50% bad.
For me, it doesn't make any sense to show an object that is only relevant where it is related to another object.
Is there a way to easily change this in one of the conf files?
Thanks. I removed self-relationship indexing of the object label names as well as the object idno field. After that, I ran the Pawtucket rebuild-search-index command. The Pawtucket search is working much better now. I also notice this changed the Providence search results. This is convenient for me.
I noticed that the original conf files for Providence and Pawtucket are not identical. For example, Providence has an entry for ca_objects_x_entities with key and count, but Pawtucket does not. Is this going to cause any problem depending on which caUtils path is used?
