Can history_tracking_current_date use '%useTemplate?

I have a report that works fine returning the movement dates for movement based tracking.

I am trying to get it to also return the loan dates, using a different display template i.e: history_tracking_current_date%useTemplate=dates_loan

but this is not working.

Is 'useTemplate' functional for history_tracking_current_date?
