something is wrong with encoding in PAW. Back quotes and forward quotes ” display OK in Prov...
I have a text field that displays just fine in Prov that has forward and back double quotes (the back double-quote pastes as a double-forward ” quote in the forum)
In Paw, they display as broken encoding:
so:
PAUL J. BIGELOW [1937-2001] COLLECTION “WRIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES,” [PELHAM MILLS BOOK], BOX 4
(the first double quote is really a back double quote)
in PROV displays as:
PAUL J. BIGELOW [1937-2001] COLLECTION “WRIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES,†[PELHAM MILLS BOOK], BOX 4
in PAW.
The <head> section of both pages indicate UTF-8 encoding.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Bruce

These are called "smart quotes" and they can cause trouble in some places as the encoding for them are different in utf8 to windows (where they are most likely created in a word or excel document). You can enter them with their html code to make sure it renders correctly on the web.
“ ” for the left and right double
‘ ’ for the left and right single
Also where you say it doesn't show right in the forum here, shows fine for me.
