Unable to save places: "Out of range value for column 'parent_id' at row 1"

When trying to create a new place, I get the following error:

There are errors preventing information in specific fields from being saved as noted below.

Out of range value for column 'parent_id' at row 1

I don't know what's causing this, and it used to work before.
I'm grateful for any suggestions or hints how to fix this

Thank you very much in advance!

  • Okay, I found it:
By default, there is nothing selected in the hierarchy - but it allows to continue and only shows the error when saving.

The text hints that there's something missing:
"Add under ... new [country] +"

Our operators reported this to me as:
"We cannot create new places! Is this an access right issue?"

Is there a way to select a position in the hierarchy by default, or avoid to continue if none is selected, to avoid this unclear situation?

  • btw, the "DC Coverage Authorities" is configured as "Is default" in the item list.

  • This is actually an issue someone uncovered just last week and let us know about. It now properly uses the default hierarchy when none is selected, at least in the develop branch..

  • I am using the develop branch, so I guess a "git pull" might fix this?

  • I'd give that a try.

  • Updated to recent git develop branch: same behavior.
No hierarchy selected, when clicking "New > Place".

    Anything I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance!
