Whirl-i-Gig, CollectiveAccess's development team, works directly with end-users who require assistance in realizing their projects. A full range of services is available, including grant development, repository, digital preservation and workflow consulting, data migration, public facing web-site design and development, software development, system hosting, and more.
Consulting may be limited to specific services, such as data migration or new feature development for example. Or it can span a full project lifecycle from design through implementation to publication. All software development is performed under GNU General Public License v3, ensuring that contracted work becomes part of upcoming software releases, further strengthening the CollectiveAccess community.
If you are interested in consulting services please contact us at consulting@collectiveaccess.org with information about your project, including:

If you need to migrate data we can help.
The Whirl-i-gig team specializes in migrating data from outdated or deprecated content management systems to CollectiveAccess. Our developers can help you extract your legacy data and develop a custom metadata schema, or improve on an existing one, to accommodate your records. Legacy data and media can then be ingested into CollectiveAccess as is, or we can help you clean up and streamline data that needs extra help.
Our team has successfully migrated archives from legacy systems including:
PastPerfect | FileMaker | ContentDM | Microsoft Access |
The Museum System (TMS) | CollectionSpace | Mimsy XG | Embark |
Omeka | MediaBin | Artbase | Artform |
ResourceSpace | DSpace | Luna | InMagic |
Archon | Archivists Toolkit | Specify | Wordpress & Drupal |
We also have extensive experience migrating data from custom applications and formats, including ad-hoc Excel, XML, delimited text, JSON, and MARC.
